One from the road: from Liege to London for Right to Play

Lumesse Cycle TeamThe Lumesse cycle team are by now on the last leg of their 350 mile ride.

But how have they done so far? Are they still talking to each other? Did our illustrious CEO manage to keep up with his pro team or did they like all good team members share the pain and sit on his wheel?

Oh, and read on for a few extra bits towards the end of this post!

Update from Matt Parker - CEO

We have completed day 2 of our cycling odyssey today, 195 kilometres yesterday and 175 kilometres today, we have another long day tomorrow but are thoroughly enjoying ourselves, as you can see from the attached photo we were flying the Lumesse flag. (Not sure if they are smiles or grimaces. Some interesting stances I see..... hard seats anyone? Wait until tomorrow!)

We have also reached a more amazing milestone in that we have raised €10k between the four of us, this is a great achievement and is due in the main to the kindness and generosity of the people of Lumesse. Thank you so much to all of you from the four of us and also from Right to Play. You can read about the fantastic work that Right to Play do at www.righttoplay.com, and for those of you that are feeling generous can donate at www.justgiving.com/Lumesse-MatthewJParker. (It's never too late to donate.)

A few more updates I found on Yammer :-)

Nick "white shorts" Holmes

"120 miles yesterday felt like a long way...."

That's because it is Nick; even in a car.

"Arrived in Maastricht for start of the right to play ride, and got to watch Matt make his own bed in the hostel. Priceless."

Not much I can say to that but looking forward to seeing the video.

So one more day and by my calculations only about 120 more miles to go. As anyone who takes on these challenges knows, there will be times on the road when they wonder if it will ever end, if the pain will have been worth it, never again..... but I can also tell you by Monday next week they'll be looking for the next big adventure. Until then, stay tuned for the final day updates. If nothing else I'm sure Mr White shorts will give me something worthy to write about.
